Sean McVay Gives Update on Puka Nacua Injury

Based on head coach Sean McVay’s comments, it seems that Puka Nacua’s knee injury is being approached with caution, and the limitation in practice appears to be more preventative than indicative of a prolonged issue. McVay mentioned that Nacua is “just banged up” and that they want to manage his workload to ensure he feels as good as possible for game day.

Nacua, a rookie wide receiver, has made a significant impact for the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 season, particularly filling in for the injured Cooper Kupp. Despite the team’s struggles with a 3-6 record, Nacua has set a franchise record for a rookie with 64 catches for 827 yards and two touchdowns.

The yardage gap between Puka Nacua and every other rookie WR is massive

The good news is that Nacua is expected to be available for the upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks. Additionally, quarterback Matthew Stafford, who dealt with a UCL sprain in his thumb, was a full participant in practice and is slated to start against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Overall, it seems like the Rams are managing Nacua’s workload with an eye on his long-term well-being, and both he and Stafford are expected to be key contributors in the upcoming game against the Seahawks.
