Wentz Says three word message to and McVay, Rams ‘Just Felt Right’
The Los Angeles Rams acknowledged their backup quarterback issue by drafting Stetson Bennett and signing Brett Rypien to provide alternatives in case of an injury to starting quarterback Matthew Stafford. However, with Bennett out and Rypien falling short against the Green Bay Packers, the Rams turned to journeyman quarterback Carson Wentz. Known for his standout 2017 season with the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles, Wentz faced challenges with the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders before becoming a free agent in November.
Despite already securing a significant extension with the Eagles, Wentz recognized the importance of seizing the opportunity with the Rams, especially under coach Sean McVay. While Stafford’s availability has improved after the Week 10 bye, Wentz remains prepared to contribute in any capacity. Learning the playbook swiftly is his current challenge, and with guidance from McVay, Stafford, and the offensive staff, Wentz aims to absorb the Rams’ offensive system. As the backup, he understands the need to be ready to step up if required, potentially impacting both the Rams’ season and his own career.
