Cincinnati Bengals provide update on Joe Burrow’s wrist injury

**Cincinnati Bengals Issue Update on Joe Burrow’s Wrist Injury**

In a Thursday Night Football clash against the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals faced a night of adversity marked by significant injuries to key players. The most notable setback occurred to Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, casting a shadow over the game.

Pre-game footage had circulated, revealing Burrow seemingly wearing a wrist brace, although this detail did not make it to the official injury report. Despite this, Burrow commenced the game looking unaffected, efficiently steering the Bengals’ offense.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse during the first half when Burrow’s hand injury was re-aggravated in a non-contact play, visibly causing substantial pain. A painful moment captured the quarterback’s attempt to throw a ball on the sideline, leading to his inability to do so. Subsequently, Burrow headed to the locker room, paving the way for Jake Browning to take the field. Shortly after halftime, it was announced that Joe Burrow would not return for the remainder of the game.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Burrow is dealing with a sprained wrist and is scheduled for an MRI the following day. Fowler shared insights from a source, stating, “Joe Burrow expected to get an MRI on his sprained wrist tomorrow, per source. Burrow declined comment from his locker while wearing a multi-layered wrap on his wrist. Bengals players optimistic yet uncertain. Mike Hilton told me he doesn’t sense Burrow will miss the season.”

The uncertainty surrounding the severity of Burrow’s injury raises concerns for the Bengals, given his crucial role as one of the league’s top quarterbacks. Despite a slow start attributed to a lingering calf injury, Burrow’s exceptional performance had propelled the Bengals into Super Bowl contention. However, following a recent loss to the Texans and Thursday night’s defeat to the Ravens, the team now stands at 5-5, making playoff prospects uncertain, even if Burrow avoids missing playing time—an outcome that appears doubtful given the challenges ahead in the Bengals’ schedule and the intense competition in the AFC.
