Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill expressed strong support for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen on his podcast, “It Needed To Be Said,” addressing recent criticism around Allen’s in-game decision-making and high interception count. Hill affectionately praised Allen as a “very elite talent” and questioned the tendency of people to judge a player based on a few bad games.
Referring to the Madden curse, where Allen was featured on the cover, Hill dismissed the notion, expressing his desire to be on the Madden cover and deeming the idea of the curse affecting the Bills and Allen as “ridiculous.”
Hill continued to advocate for Allen and athletes in general, emphasizing Allen’s competitive mindset and dedication to winning. He defended Allen against negative narratives and addressed the controversy surrounding Trevon Diggs’ posts critical of the Bills after their Week 10 loss.
Additionally, Hill spoke out against the criticism of Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, challenging false claims about Watson’s absence and lack of love for the game. He criticized those who attributed the Browns’ success to the defense when Watson performed well in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens, highlighting the need for a fair evaluation.
Towards the end of the podcast segment, Hill expressed his desire to be a “voice” for elite athletes in the NFL, maintaining his supportive stance throughout the episode.
Hill also touched on the AFC East’s struggles, noting the Dolphins’ advantage in Week 10 as all other teams in the division lost. While expressing a wish for the AFC East to do well, he admitted that the losses were beneficial for the Dolphins’ playoff chances, humorously labeling it a “good week” for his team.
