Miami Dolphins confirmed late injury as star was ruled out despite participating in practice ahead of Las Vegas Raiders game

**Berrios Participates in Practice, but Leaves Early: Dolphins Face Uncertainty Ahead of Raiders Clash**

In a prelude to their Sunday matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Miami Dolphins encountered a mix of hope and concern during Thursday’s practice. Braxton Berrios, a pivotal slot receiver and returner, made a partial return to drills after missing previous sessions due to a hamstring injury. However, Berrios left the field prematurely, leaving his playing status for Sunday in question.

Despite participating in position drills and an early special teams period, Berrios retreated to the training bubble accompanied by a trainer. The nature of his departure remains unclear, raising doubts about his availability for the upcoming game against the Raiders.

In the event Berrios is sidelined, River Cracraft may step in as the slot receiver. Various options, including Jaylen Waddle, Cedrick Wilson Jr., De’Von Achane, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Raheem Mostert, are considered for kickoff return duties. Special teams coach Dan Crossman hinted at the potential use of Tyreek Hill and Jevon Holland as punt returners.

Chase Claypool continued his absence from practice due to a lingering knee injury, marking his third straight session on the sidelines. On a positive note, tight end Durham Smythe (ankle) and fullback Alec Ingold (foot) returned to Thursday’s practice after missing Wednesday’s session.

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Robert Hunt remained sidelined due to a hamstring injury, signaling a likely second-week absence. Head coach Mike McDaniel emphasized the importance of prioritizing players’ long-term health, especially with an eye on crucial December games where the Dolphins aim to contend for the AFC East division crown and secure home-field advantage in the playoffs.

With Hunt and Robert Jones (knee) missing practice, Lester Cotton and Liam Eichenberg are poised to step in as starting guards against the Raiders. The team’s alternatives include Chasen Hines from the practice squad, along with offensive tackles Kendall Lamm and Kion Smith. The Dolphins face a delicate balance between immediate challenges and long-term goals as they navigate the complexities of their roster ahead of the Raiders clash.
