David Beckham has stated that he has always ‘liked’ Newcastle United. While browsing over old football kits, David Beckham made an unexpected admission about Newcastle United.
The ex-England great revealed on the ClassicFootballShirts channel that he has always admired the Toon.
The former Manchester United player was also given with some of his former opponents’ uniforms in the video where Beckham reflects back on his career in shirts. And one of these uniforms was the one worn by Newcastle United in the 1999 FA Cup final against David Beckham’s Manchester United.
Newcastle won 2-0, and it would be another 23 years until they reached another Wembley final.
But Beckham had more to say about the Magpies than just our clothes.
“To be honest,” the 48-year-old stated, “Newcastle always had good shirts.” “I’ve always admired Newcastle as a club; I adore the fans and the way they conduct themselves.” We once played for England at Newcastle, and they were incredible.”
Fans are now wondering if Newcastle had a chance to sign England’s footballing hero.
