Ohio State football coach Ryan Day discusses how he keeps his players’ emotions in check before of the big game versus Michigan. Ohio State football is preparing for its most crucial game of the season, as the Buckeyes will meet the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor this Saturday for a trip to the Big Ten championship game. Not to mention that both teams’ hopes of making the College Football Playoff are on the line. Ohio State football coach Ryan Day understands that his players are feeling a range of emotions as they prepare for a big game against a bitter rival, and it is his duty to keep those emotions in check.
“I think the first step is to talk to them about it… “Just keep your emotions in check and don’t let distractions get in the way of your work,” Day stated on 97.1 The Fan’s Buckeye Roundtable (h/t ElevenWarriors.com).
The Buckeyes remain unbeaten this season, having won 11 straight games, including eight victory over Big Ten opponents. Michigan football also has an unbeaten record, but Jim Harbaugh will not be on the sidelines for Saturday’s major game due to a suspension.
The last time these two teams faced on the field, Michigan won 45-23 at home in 2022.
With or without Harbaugh, the game between Ohio State and Michigan will draw a lot of attention, as it always does, and Day is sure that his team can win in hostile territory.
