Breaking news: Miami Dolphins confirmed another injured and ruled out till…

Miami Dolphins running back Salvon Ahmed, who scored an 11-yard touchdown against the Las Vegas Raiders, has been placed on injured reserve due to a foot injury, leaving the Dolphins with two healthy tailbacks, Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr., on the 53-man roster for the upcoming game against the New York Jets. Ahmed’s placement on injured reserve makes him the fourth tailback this season to face such a fate. Rookie standout De’Von Achane and fellow rookie Chris Brooks have also dealt with injuries, with Achane re-aggravating a knee injury and Brooks nursing a leg injury.

Achane and Wilson are presently on the active roster, but Achane is likely to be limited in practice due to his knee injury. In response to Ahmed’s injury, the Dolphins promoted receiver Robbie Chosen from the practice squad to fill his spot, and they also signed tailback Darryton Evans to the practice squad. The team has two spots available for players on injured reserve to return to the 53-man roster, and it remains uncertain if one will be used for Brooks or Ahmed. Other potential candidates for these return spots include guard Isaiah Wynn, recovering from a quadricep injury, and receiver Erik Ezukanma, nursing a neck injury on the reserve non-football injury list. If Ahmed doesn’t return this season, he will have concluded the year with 61 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, 22 carries, 16 receptions, 88 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.
