Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville predict the score ahead of Newcastle vs Chelsea

As domestic football returns this weekend, Newcastle United and Chelsea will square off at St James’ Park.

Newcastle play Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, with top-flight action returning after the international break in November. The two-week break came at an inconvenient time for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. This was due to the Blues gaining momentum after scooping up four points in their previous two league games against Manchester City and Tottenham.

Chelsea will now try to pick up where they left off when they go to one of the division’s toughest away journeys.

Newcastle vs Chelsea prediction

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville predicted a shared score for Newcastle vs. Chelsea on The Overlap. They’ve settled on a home win this weekend at St James’ Park.

Carragher stated, “I think Newcastle at home.”

“2-0 Newcastle,” Neville added. Chelsea isn’t scoring any goals up there.”

During the 2022/23 season, Newcastle defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the same league match.

Blues squad getting stronger

When Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino looks around at his present roster, we believe he will be increasingly pleased. It is undeniably becoming stronger as more players return from injury.

Blues fans are waiting to see if Christopher Nkunku, 26, will make his competitive debut for the club.

According to journalist Simon Phillips’ Substack this week, Nkunku will be available for selection when Chelsea travels to Newcastle on Saturday. However, because to a knee ailment, the French forward is yet to kick a ball this season.

We’d like the club to be cautious with Nkunku’s return, especially with such a heavy December calendar ahead.

Before the internationals, there were hints that this Chelsea squad was coming together. Finally, this is a team that is scoring a lot more easily, with the forwards really stepping up. The three of Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer, and Nicolas Jackson, in particular, is starting to gel.

Chelsea is prepared to play a Newcastle club that is battling with some key injuries in their own squad, so we should go with confidence.
