Running back Kyren Williams, the leading rusher for the Rams, is set to make a return to the field after recovering from an ankle injury that placed him on injured reserve. The Rams, anticipating his comeback, are also optimistic about the availability of wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who is dealing with an ankle issue.
Upon Williams’ activation from injured reserve, Rams coach Sean McVay quickly gained assurance about the running back’s physical condition during Wednesday morning’s practice. McVay expressed his satisfaction, noting that Williams appeared to be operating at full speed during the walk-through session.
Having missed four games due to an ankle sprain, Williams, who had assumed the role of the Rams’ lead back before the injury, has amassed impressive stats with 97 carries for 456 yards and six touchdowns.
McVay emphasized that there are no plans to impose restrictions on Williams as he returns to practice, emphasizing the importance of being cautious while allowing him to engage in a normal workload. Despite the previous necessity of a cast around his injured ankle, Williams participated fully in Wednesday’s practice.
Anticipating Williams’ return to the lineup against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Rams have made roster adjustments, waiving veteran Darrell Henderson on Tuesday and signing him to the practice squad on Wednesday.
In the wide receiver department, Cooper Kupp, dealing with an ankle injury, did not participate in Wednesday’s practice, raising hopes for his potential contribution in the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals. Meanwhile, wide receiver Puka Nacua was limited in practice due to a shoulder injury.
