Milwaukee Bucks’ star Damian Lillard send 3-word ‘bold’ message after defeat to Boston Celtics

Damian Lillard came up big down the line for the Milwaukee Bucks, helping to lead a dramatic comeback bid against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.

Lillard, like the rest of the team, got off to a sluggish start in the game, only to spark a late-game rally that nearly saw the Bucks mount a mind-boggling comeback against Boston at the TD Garden.

In the end, Dame’s valor was futile. You have to give this man credit for making clutch plays on both ends late in the game, but the Celtics held on to win 119-116.

That’s all that matters at the end of the day. Boston won their 12th game of the season to maintain their lead in the Eastern Conference, while the Bucks dropped another one.

“We were fighting to make it a game, and then once we did, you usually don’t get over the hump like that,” Lillard said, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps. “They played a game that they deserved to win, and we didn’t.”

In the first half, the Celtics led by as much as 21 points. After the interval, the Bucks put forth a terrific effort, cutting the advantage to three points. But that was the extent of their failed comeback attempt.

Milwaukee, as Dame stated, eventually fell short. It’s as if they ran out of gas at the end, as seen by Lillard’s missed wide-open dunk in the final seconds of the game:

The Bucks will now need to rebound swiftly before hosting the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
