Manager Bruce Bochy Sends Strong To His Message To His Player after Game 4 loss to Astros

In Game 4 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS), the Texas Rangers faced a tough 10-3 loss to the Houston Astros, allowing the Astros to tie the series 2-2. Despite the setback, Rangers’ manager Bruce Bochy expressed confidence in his team, emphasizing his belief in their resilience and their ability to bounce back.

The Rangers had initially taken a 2-0 lead in the series by winning the first two games in Houston. However, the Astros responded strongly in Games 3 and 4, outscoring the Rangers 18-8 over the two matchups in Arlington.

Bochy, undeterred by the series tie, voiced his confidence in the Rangers’ capabilities, stating, “I always like my chances with this club. They’ve battled all year. We are playing a good team. Nobody thought this was going to be easy. I’ve been in this kind of situation where we have to bounce back. That’s what we need to do.”

He acknowledged the challenge posed by the Astros and emphasized the need for the Rangers to perform better in pitching and scoring runs. The upcoming Game 5, set to take place in the same stadium, will be crucial for both teams.

During Game 4, Astros second baseman Jose Altuve played a pivotal role, going 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Designated hitter Yordan Alvarez and first baseman Jose Abreu contributed significantly with three RBIs each. The Astros capitalized on an early offensive outburst, jumping on Rangers starter Andrew Heaney and building a lead they would not relinquish.

Despite Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia and shortstop Corey Seager’s home runs, the Astros maintained control of the game. A four-run fourth inning and additional runs in later innings secured their convincing victory.

Astros starter Jose Urquidy faced early struggles, allowing three runs over 2 1/3 innings. However, the Astros bullpen stepped in, shutting down the Rangers for the remainder of the game.

As the series stands at 2-2, both teams will vie for a pivotal Game 5 victory. Bochy remains optimistic about the Rangers’ chances, relying on their resilience and determination to overcome the challenges presented by the Astros. The upcoming game is set to take place at Globe Life Field at 5:07 p.m. EDT on Friday.
