PSG have entered the competition with Liverpool to secure the signature of Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, signaling a potential move in the upcoming January transfer window.
The talented Algerian player has grabbed the attention of Liverpool due to his impressive performances while being a regular in the Wolves starting lineup under manager Gary O’Neil. O’Neil recently showered praise on Ait-Nouri, describing him as ‘crazy’ and ‘mad’. However, Liverpool’s pursuit of Ait-Nouri is now facing competition, as reports from Sports Zone suggest that PSG has also expressed interest in acquiring the 22-year-old left-back.
The competition between Liverpool and PSG intensifies as both clubs seek to reinforce their left-back position in the January transfer window. Ait-Nouri’s potential move could present an enticing opportunity for either team to enhance their squad during the winter transfer period.
However, with Wolves trying to maintain all of their good players in the market, signing Ait-Nouri might cost Liverpool and PSG quite a bit of money.
Indeed, a Premier League premium tax could deter many clubs from signing the Algerian international in January, with Liverpool unlikely to match PSG in terms of money.
Liverpool could lose to PSG in race to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri
Ait-Nouri is clearly a player who is highly regarded by some of Europe’s most powerful teams, with Liverpool and, more recently, PSG keeping tabs on the Wolves youngster.
However, if the Reds are serious about signing Ait-Nouri, the financial stranglehold their French rivals have on the transfer market may make any deal nearly difficult.
PSG are a club that can get whomever they want because of the enormous funds their Qatari owners have, which Liverpool just cannot match.
And if PSG makes a real bid to sign Ait-Nouri in January, the Reds will struggle to beat them to the defender.
