The Seattle Seahawks have added former Steelers wide receiver Cody White to their practice squad, as announced by the team on Monday. White, who was released by the Steelers from their injured reserve list after a preseason injury, is returning to the Seahawks for his second stint.
White originally signed with the Steelers in 2020 and has been associated with the team’s practice squad and active roster for the past three years. Despite going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Michigan State product has managed to secure a spot in the league. His father, Sheldon White, also works within the Steelers organization as the Director of Professional Scouting, providing Cody with a familiar connection in the building.
During the 2021 season, White played in 15 games for the Steelers, primarily contributing on special teams. He secured five receptions for 33 yards, with notable performances in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals and Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. White’s ability to stick around in the league showcases his perseverance and determination in the face of roster changes and challenges.
After being released by the Steelers earlier this season, White now gets an opportunity with the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad, offering him a chance to continue honing his skills and potentially contribute to the team in the future.
