The Miami Heat have received updates on the injury status of key players such as Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo ahead of their in-season tournament game against the Milwaukee Bucks. As the final group play game approaches, there are uncertainties regarding the availability of Butler and Adebayo due to injuries. The latest NBA injury report sheds light on the potential participation of these stars and other players for the Heat.
Jimmy Butler, a crucial force for Miami, is still labeled as “questionable” for the upcoming game due to a right ankle sprain. Despite missing the last game against the Brooklyn Nets, Butler attempted to test his ankle before the match. While he couldn’t play in the previous game, there’s an expectation that he will attempt to participate against the Bucks. In the absence of Butler, players like rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Caleb Martin are anticipated to step in and contribute, as they did in the previous game.
On a more positive note, Bam Adebayo, another star for the Heat, who missed the previous game with a left hip contusion, is listed as “probable” for the game against the Bucks. Adebayo, who is dealing with a recurring injury, is on track to return to the starting lineup. Despite facing the challenging task of guarding Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Adebayo practiced fully and is having a career-best season with impressive averages.
Duncan Robinson, a key three-point shooter for Miami, is also on the injury report with a right thumb sprain. Fortunately, he is listed as “probable,” signaling a positive development for the team. Robinson, who missed the last two games, was in excellent form before the injury, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
In other injury updates, star player Tyler Herro remains sidelined with a right ankle sprain, and his return is expected in approximately a week. Although Herro is present at practice, he is not actively participating to avoid exacerbating the injury. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra mentioned that Herro is “trending in the right direction,” providing a glimmer of hope for his return. Herro’s absence is notable as he led the team in scoring before the injury.
Haywood Highsmith is listed as “questionable” with a lower back contusion for the upcoming game against the Bucks. Despite modest statistics this season, Highsmith’s impact on the court is significant, with Miami boasting a 9-3 record when he starts.
Additional injuries on the report include R.J. Hampton, who is out with a right knee sprain, and Dru Smith, already declared out for the season with a 3rd degree ACL sprain. The Heat, currently 2-1 in group play for the inaugural tournament, need a win against the Bucks, coupled with a New York Knicks loss, to advance to the next round.
