Three former Raiders among 28 finalists for Black College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024

The Black College Football Hall of Fame has revealed the 28 finalists for the Class of 2024, including 23 players and five coaches. Among the players nominated for induction, three have ties to the Silver and Black – the Oakland Raiders.

1. **George Atkinson:**

A safety and Morris Brown alum, Atkinson is celebrated as one of the most decorated players in Raiders history. The Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowler spent an impressive 10 seasons with the Raiders, amassing 30 interceptions, 12 forced fumbles, and showcasing versatility as a punt and kickoff returner.

2. **Tyrone Poole:**

Drafted in the first round out of Fort Valley State University, cornerback Tyrone Poole contributed to the Raiders in the 2006 season. During that time, he made 14 solo tackles and secured an interception.

3. **Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie:**

A standout at Tennessee State with FCS All-American honors and three-time first-team All-OVC recognition, Rodgers-Cromartie is a two-time Pro Bowler. In 2018, he spent a season with the Silver and Black, appearing in seven games with one start.

The Class of 2024 inductees will be announced on December 14, with the formal Black College Football Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony scheduled for June 8, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Notably, the last Raiders players to be inducted were Henry Lawrence and Albert Lewis, recognized as part of the Class of 2023.
