Latest Report: Texans will be without their top star against Broncos

The Denver Broncos are set to catch a break in their upcoming crucial matchup against the Houston Texans, with top tight end Dalton Schultz expected to be sidelined due to a hamstring injury, according to a report on Friday.

Schultz, who has been a key target for the Texans, has played in all 11 games this season, amassing 40 receptions for 455 yards and five touchdowns. His absence could provide a relief for the Denver secondary, which has faced challenges covering tight ends in recent years.

In Schultz’s absence, TE Eric Saubert, formerly with the Broncos in 2021 and 2022, is expected to move up the Texans’ depth chart and may see an increase in workload.

On the offensive front, rookie standout wide receiver Tank Dell is anticipated to play. Dell has been impressive with 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns. He is likely to face formidable matchups against star cornerback Pat Surtain II and Nico Collins.

Houston’s rookie quarterback, C.J. Stroud, is having a stellar season and is considered a strong candidate for NFL Rookie of the Year. With over 3,000 passing yards and 19 touchdowns, Stroud has demonstrated excellent performance with just five interceptions.

On the Broncos’ side, Russell Wilson, their highly capable quarterback, has contributed significantly with 20 touchdown passes and only four interceptions, placing him in the top-5 in the league in this regard.

Both teams currently hold a 6-5 record in the competitive AFC, and the outcome of this matchup will likely play a crucial role in the playoff race. The winner will have a favorable position for a playoff spot, while the loser will face the challenge of making up ground over the remaining five games of the season.

Even without Schultz on the field, the Broncos will need to maintain their defensive prowess, including forcing turnovers, to secure a much-needed victory in this pivotal game.
