Enzo Maresca has revealed Leicester City’s team news before of a challenging match against in-form West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Wout Faes, who was replaced at halftime against Sheffield Wednesday due to a dead leg and edema, will miss Leicester’s trip to West Brom. Callum Doyle is also still out.
Maresca was adamant that the rest of his squad is “fine,” with the rest of his players to choose from ahead of a difficult battle against one of the division’s most in-form sides.
“We had a session this morning and he didn’t work with us,” Maresca said when asked about Faes, according to the Leicester Mercury (1:32pm on Friday).
In terms of recent performance, West Brom seems to have a promising chance of defeating the league leaders in their upcoming Saturday match, backed by their impressive track record of five wins in their last six games. November proved to be a challenging period for Leicester City, as they suffered defeats in their second and third league games of the season against Leeds United and Middlesbrough, allowing other teams in the league to narrow the gap.
While West Brom holds the fourth position in the league based on their performance at home, Maresca’s squad stands out as the most successful away team in the division, having scored 19 out of their total 32 goals away from the King Power Stadium.
Despite facing difficulties at the start of the season, West Brom, currently positioned fifth, trails Ipswich Town by only 10 points and is 11 points behind Leicester City. Notably, teams like Leeds, Southampton, and Hull City are within reach for West Brom.
Given the strength of their squad, which remains robust even after relegation from the Premier League, it’s expected that West Brom would vie for the top spots. A victory for them in the upcoming match could significantly shake up the top positions in the Championship standings.
