The Miami Dolphins are anticipating the return of one of their dynamic playmakers, De’Von Achane, in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders, according to head coach Mike McDaniel’s announcement on Friday.
Achane’s rookie season has been marked by explosive performances, particularly in Week 3 when he showcased his playmaking abilities. Unfortunately, his momentum was interrupted by a knee injury in Week 5, leading to his placement on injured reserve and a four-game absence. Despite making a comeback against the Las Vegas Raiders on Nov. 19, he re-injured the same knee early in the game, sidelining him for the subsequent match against the New York Jets on Black Friday.
There were concerns about potentially shutting Achane down for the season due to the recurring knee issues, but the latest update from coach McDaniel suggests that won’t be the case.
In his standout performance against the Denver Broncos in Week 3, Achane ran for an impressive 203 yards on 18 carries, scoring two rushing touchdowns. He also contributed with four catches for 30 yards and two receiving touchdowns, showcasing his versatility. Achane’s speed and ability to make big plays were further evident in subsequent games, making him a crucial asset for the Dolphins.
With Achane’s return, the Dolphins are poised to present an even more formidable challenge for opposing defenses, adding a dynamic and explosive element to their offensive arsenal in Week 13 against the Washington Commanders.
