In a recent episode of “RG3 and The Ones,” Tyreek Hill discussed his move from the Chiefs to the Dolphins after being traded in 2022. Speaking with Robert Griffin III, the wide receiver humorously criticized his former team for his role within the Chiefs’ offensive setup.
Hill jokingly expressed his frustration at not being Patrick Mahomes’ primary target on the team, feeling like he played second fiddle to All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce both on and off the field.
During the show, he humorously remarked, “Pat had Kelce, and I was kind of jealous. I was hurt. Patrick, you never invited me over to your house like you did Kelce. It was always Kelce who got the invitations. That’s why we find ourselves in this situation now. I’ve never been anybody’s sidekick before.”
Tyreek Hill, now in his second season with the Dolphins, continues to draw connections with his former team and playfully recalls the reason behind his decision to change teams initially.
When asked whether he feels a stronger on-field connection with his former Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes, his quarterback from 2018 to 2021, or his current Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, Hill responded with a humorous reference to his departure from Kansas City.
His response to the question about the connection was quite colorful: “I’ve never been anybody’s side chick before. Never. Throughout my whole life — high school, middle school — with all the quarterbacks, I was their main target. Always. Then I go to K.C., and suddenly I’m the second option.”
Hill’s remarks playfully emphasize the difference in his role and closeness within the quarterback-receiver dynamic between his time in Kansas City and his current stint with the Dolphins.
