Main reason Why Milan want to sell Krunic in January and how much the Rossoneri could earn revealed

According to reports in Italy, Rade Krunic’s departure from AC Milan during the January transfer window seems increasingly probable, with Fenerbahce expressing continued interest in the 30-year-old midfielder.

Krunic was notably absent from Milan’s recent 3-1 victory over Frosinone, and sources from Calciomercato.com suggest that his sale during the upcoming transfer window is now deemed ‘inevitable.’

Since recovering from a muscle injury in October, Krunic has experienced a decrease in playing time. Despite making appearances as a substitute in certain matches, his involvement has been limited, including only six minutes against Fiorentina and being benched for the entire game against Frosinone.

The report indicates that Milan’s manager, Stefano Pioli, is unlikely to heavily rely on the Bosnian international for the remaining matches of the year. Krunic was said to have reached an agreement with Fenerbahce for a €3.5 million per year contract last summer. However, Milan rejected Fenerbahce’s offer, leading Krunic to expect a salary increase from Milan.

Negotiations have reportedly stalled, with Milan offering Krunic a new contract without a pay rise. Consequently, the player is now inclined to seek a departure, and the club is open to considering offers during the January transfer window.

Fenerbahce remains interested in Krunic, and if AC Milan decides to sell him for around €10 million, they stand to register a capital gain of approximately €8.2 million based on Krunic’s amortized value of about €1.8 million in January. Additionally, the club could save approximately €1.6 million related to the player’s salary and amortization until June.

Krunic’s contract at AC Milan is set to expire in June 2025.
