3 stars of the game from Bruins’ win over the Blue Jackets

The Boston Bruins continued their winning streak with a third consecutive victory, this time defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1 on home ice. The game started slowly, with no goals for either team until the end of the second period, but it concluded on a high note for the Bruins. Here are the three stars of the game for the Bruins:

1. **Jeremy Swayman:**

The Alaskan goalie had an outstanding performance, stopping 24 out of 25 shots, recording a .960 save percentage, and securing his ninth win of the season. Swayman’s stellar goaltending played a crucial role in the Bruins’ victory, especially after a challenging previous start against Columbus.

2. **Charlie McAvoy:**

The defenseman played a pivotal role in the game, leading all Boston skaters with 24 minutes and 30 seconds of ice time. McAvoy contributed with two assists, both on Bruins power plays. With four points in as many games, all of them assists, McAvoy showcased his offensive and defensive prowess.

3. **Brad Marchand:**

The Bruins captain had a spectacular game, following up his game-winning performance against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Marchand recorded a natural hat trick, scoring three goals in the third period to secure the win for the Bruins. His goals came at 1:56, 5:37 (power play), and 7:46 (natural hat trick) into the period. This was Marchand’s 11th goal of the season, and he became the third-fastest Bruins player to achieve a natural hat trick in franchise history.

The Bruins will enjoy some time off before their next game, scheduled for Thursday night at home against the Buffalo Sabres, a division rival.
