Breaking News:Just In Detroit Lions confirm the Signing of another super star

The Detroit Lions are facing the likelihood of an extended absence for defensive tackle Alim McNeill, who sustained an injury in Week 13, impacting his promising season. To address this setback, the Lions are reportedly adding defensive tackle Tyson Alualu to the practice squad, per information from NFL Network. McNeill experienced difficulties in the second half of the game against the New Orleans Saints, prompting the team to explore reinforcement options.

Tyson Alualu, a seasoned player with an extensive NFL career, was originally drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft from California. After his tenure with the Jaguars from 2010 to 2016, Alualu joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017. Notably, he made a impactful debut for the Steelers, contributing five tackles in their season-opening victory against the Cleveland Browns. However, Alualu’s 2021 season was hindered by a fractured ankle, impacting his production and availability.

The Lions, who have been seeking increased defensive line productivity throughout the season, are evaluating options to address McNeill’s absence. Against the Saints, Bruce Irvin and Quinton Bohanna were elevated from the practice squad and demonstrated potential contributions. Irvin, in particular, played 11 snaps and secured a sack against Derek Carr.

As decisions on the active roster unfold, there is a possibility that both Irvin and Bohanna could secure spots, potentially necessitating replacements on the practice squad. The Lions front office faces the task of managing roster adjustments to maintain a competitive and resilient defensive line in the wake of Alim McNeill’s injury.
