Darvin Ham, the Lakers’ coach, has responded to Rockets coach Ime Udoka, who had some choice words for LeBron James on Saturday night.
The purple and gold’s 107-97 victory was overshadowed somewhat by an exchange between LeBron and Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni.
Leaked audio of the incident appears to show Udoka calling James and his teammates b*tches, which LeBron did not appreciate.
“We’re all grown men,” James appeared to be saying. “That b*tch word is not acceptable. Don’t use it so casually. Don’t use the term so casually. No, but don’t use it too loosely. Don’t use it too casually.”
On Monday, Ham had the appropriate retort, telling ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, “There ain’t no crying b*tches over here, Saginaw said so.”
“I have not heard him respond to a situation like this since he was a player,” Shelburne said, explaining that Ham is from Saginaw. When he was on the ‘bad boy’ Pistons, he was an enforcer.”
Dillon Brooks, a Rockets forward, addressed to the media about what happened on Monday and blamed the officials.
“I tried to push LeBron away from it,” Brooks admitted. “The officials simply let it get out of hand.” There was a poor reffing crew out there, and they lost control of the game and were quite inconsistent.”
The altercation resulted in both James and Udoka receiving technical fouls, with Udoka being dismissed for his second technical foul of the night.
Despite the fact that LeBron received a technical foul for clapping back at Udoka, former NBA All-Star Kenyon Martin believes he should have done more.
“For a coach to have those things to say, I think Bron should’ve taken it a little further in that moment,” Martin remarked on Gil’s Arena. You calling folks b*tches out here, dog? Let’s see who you’re referring to.”
