In recent games, Fournette hasn’t been promoted to the active roster, including the team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on November 26. As the Buffalo Bills prepare for a crucial match against the Kansas City Chiefs, there’s speculation among fans that Fournette’s social media message stating he’s “ready to Hoop” might hint at his potential elevation to the active roster.
“Go Bills, activate the man!” expressed one fan in response to Fournette’s message.
Another fan speculated, “A Chiefs team known for heavy blitzes against Lenny’s skills in blitz pickup… I believe this could be the week.”
During Sunday’s game against the Colts, Simmons suffered a knee injury but initially returned to play. However, the team’s medical staff ultimately decided he needed to leave the game for good, determining that the veteran would have to miss multiple games due to the issue.
Vrabel commented on Simmons’ situation, saying, “I think he really did everything that he could and even made a play. He just wasn’t going to be able to do anything. And if you can’t protect yourself out there, nobody wants to put a player in harm’s risk. We’re going to trust Jeff to say when he can go and when he can’t.”
The former first-round choice has emerged as Tennessee’s top defender, earning two consecutive All-Pro selections after totaling 16 sacks in 2021 and 2022. Simmons has 44 tackles and 5.5 sacks this season, ranking 33rd out of 126 qualifying interior defenders, according to Pro Football Focus. He also received a top-25 positional grade from the site for his pass-rushing skills.
Teair Tart and Kyle Peko absorbed the most of the residual snaps after Simmons was limited to a season-low 37 defensive snaps this past weekend. After playing in an inconsistent role on defense, Jaleel Johnson recorded one of his highest snap totals of the season.
