Sunderland has fired Mowbray, Tony Tony Mowbray has been fired by Sunderland.
Mike Dodds will ‘manage the first-team’s training and match preparations until the process to hire a new Head Coach is completed,’ according to the club.
“Sunderland AFC has parted ways with Head Coach Tony Mowbray this evening,” the club said in a statement. The Club would like to thank Tony for his good contributions over the last two seasons, as well as his assistant Mark Venus, who is also leaving.
“Both will always be welcome back at the Stadium of Light and we wish them well for the future.”
After a 1-1 draw with Millwall at The Den, the Black Cats will play West Bromwich Albion at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
