Breaking News: Philadelphia Eagles confirm the release of another star

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles underwent changes to their roster involving former Alabama wide receivers. The day began with three, including Julio Jones and DeVonta Smith, but concluded with the release of Cam Sims from the practice squad, less than a week after he joined the team.

Cam Sims had been without a team since October 10, when the New York Giants released him from their practice squad. Notably, Sims has not seen any playing time in the 2023 season.

During the 2022 season, in his fifth year with the Washington Commanders, Sims accumulated eight receptions for 89 yards. He was on the field for 328 offensive snaps and participated in 244 special-teams plays across 17 games.

Former Alabama WR Cam Sims signs with Las Vegas Raiders

In March, Sims signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as a free agent, but he was released when the team trimmed its preseason roster to the regular-season limit of 53 players on August 29. Subsequently, Sims joined the Giants on September 4 before the recent move to the Eagles.

Sims began his NFL journey as an undrafted rookie with Washington in 2018, making their regular-season roster. Unfortunately, he suffered a season-ending injury on the opening kickoff of the first game. Despite the setback, Sims made a successful return, recording 57 receptions for 804 yards and three touchdowns in 54 games over the next four seasons with Washington.

Among his notable performances with Washington, Sims had two 100-yard receiving games. He caught three passes for 110 yards in a game against the Giants on November 8, 2020, and had seven receptions for 104 yards in an NFC playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 9, 2021.
