The Miami Heat will face the Toronto Raptors without key players Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro in their matchup at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night. Both starters have been ruled out due to injuries, providing the Raptors with a fortunate break.
Adebayo is sidelined with a left hip contusion, marking the second consecutive game he will miss this season due to injury. Orlando Robinson is likely to step into the starting lineup in Adebayo’s absence. On the other hand, Herro continues to battle a right ankle injury that has kept him out of action for the past 12 games.
In addition to Adebayo and Herro, the Heat will also be without Haywood Highsmith, who is dealing with a lower back contusion. Highsmith has become a reliable rotation player and starter for the Heat this season, averaging a career-best 6.5 points in 22.3 minutes per game.
R.J. Hampton (right knee sprain) and Dru Smith (ACL sprain) are also unavailable for the Heat in this matchup.
As for the Raptors, Christian Koloko is the only injured player as he continues to manage an ongoing respiratory illness that has kept him out since the summer. Despite the illness, Koloko has been participating in light basketball-related activities during the team’s practice.
Gradey Dick is expected to miss the game for the Raptors as he joins the Raptors 905 in the G League on Wednesday.
The game will mark another homecoming for Kyle Lowry, who has returned to Toronto as Miami’s starting point guard this season. Lowry, a beloved figure among Raptors fans, is anticipated to receive a warm welcome when he is announced in the starting lineup for Wednesday night’s matchup.
