Stafford revealed that he had been in contact with Beckham during the week, exchanging texts with him and teammate Cooper Kupp. While acknowledging the pleasantries, Stafford also reflected on the unique experience of facing Beckham on the field. Having watched crossover tape of Beckham’s performances with the Ravens, Stafford recognized the challenges he poses for the Rams’ defense. Beckham, playing alongside Lamar Jackson, has recorded 27 catches for 408 yards and two touchdowns, contributing to the Ravens’ 9-3 record, tied for the best in the AFC.

Stafford acknowledged the overall strength of the Ravens’ offense, led by Jackson, and emphasized the need for the Rams to rise to the challenge posed by players like Beckham.

Rams head coach Sean McVay also shared his sentiments about facing Beckham, expressing admiration for the former Ram’s talent, work ethic, and positive impact on the team. McVay reminisced about the memorable moments Beckham created during their time together in 2021, including crucial plays in key games.

Despite the personal connection and positive memories, McVay acknowledged the competitive nature of the upcoming game, stating that while he roots for Beckham generally, this week will be an exception. The coach emphasized the importance of creating new positive memories, even if they come at the expense of facing a former teammate.

The reunion with Beckham adds an emotional layer to the Rams’ matchup against the Ravens, as players and coaches navigate the complexities of competing against a familiar face who played a significant role in the team’s recent success.
