Latest Detroit Lions News: Late Injury Blow confirmed with another Lion’s super star ruled out

Detroit Lions starting center Frank Ragnow has been officially ruled out for the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears, as per the team’s Week 14 Friday injury report. In Ragnow’s absence, the Lions are expected to turn to Graham Glasgow, a veteran who previously stepped in at center during Week 8 when Ragnow was sidelined.

With Ragnow out, the right guard position may be filled by rookie Colby Sorsdal, who has made three starts this season. Sorsdal previously started at right guard during Week 8 when Glasgow shifted to center. Despite facing challenges in his last start against the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, where he was benched at halftime, Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism about Sorsdal’s growth throughout the season.

Frank Ragnow won't play against the Bears

Campbell highlighted the importance of focusing on the positive aspects of Sorsdal’s performance while acknowledging the need for improvement in fundamental aspects such as pad level, first step, pass and twist techniques, and snapping with hands.

The Lions’ Week 14 Friday injury report also includes quarterback Hendon Hooker ruled out due to a knee injury, while linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez is listed as questionable with an ankle concern. The absence of Ragnow poses a significant challenge for the Lions, and the team will rely on Glasgow and potentially Sorsdal to fill crucial roles in the upcoming game against the Bears.
