pundit makes ‘stupid’ comment in Sunderland v West Brom prediction

Don Goodman, a West Brom fan and pundit, believes there will be goals and points shared when Albion face Sunderland on Saturday.

Former West Bromwich Albion striker and current Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman anticipates that the Baggies will secure another point during their upcoming away match against Sunderland, scheduled for a 12:30 pm kickoff on Saturday. Despite West Bromwich Albion facing recent setbacks from their match against Leicester, Goodman believes they’ll aim for a strong response at the Stadium of Light.

Meanwhile, Sunderland has also been in the headlines recently due to the announcement of parting ways with their manager and former Albion favorite, Tony Mowbray. The Black Cats have encountered difficulties following a promising start to the season and their previous playoff campaign under Mowbray. However, reports suggest they are seeking a manager more aligned with their strategic approach.

The upcoming clash promises to be an intriguing encounter, with West Bromwich Albion set for their third consecutive weekend on live TV, hosting Stoke City the following Sunday. Goodman, serving as a co-commentator, expressed disbelief at Sunderland’s decision to dismiss Mowbray.

“I can’t fathom the decision to sack Tony Mowbray,” Goodman conveyed to EFL betting. “Sunderland must exercise caution regarding their decision-making. Mowbray has brought through a significant amount of talent and has done an incredible job. It’s incomprehensible that the club believes he wasn’t performing admirably.”

“Consider what he’s achieved with Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts. His coaching has elevated the performance of every young player. This upcoming match will be challenging. Sunderland isn’t known for draws, but my intuition leans towards a 2-2 scoreline.”

Last Saturday was noteworthy, potentially carrying significance for the season when viewed in retrospect upon its culmination. The top four teams all secured victories, while the clubs positioned in fifth through eighth (a group inclusive of Albion) experienced defeats. This further widened the gap between Ipswich Town and the three relegated teams.
