Breaking News:Just In Philadelphia 76ers confirm the signing of another star

In an early 2024 NBA Draft mock projection, the Philadelphia 76ers are anticipated to select Duke guard Tyrese Proctor with the 24th overall pick. The Sixers, known for their activity in trade deadlines to acquire win-now players, are currently positioned to make a selection beyond the lottery.

Tyrese Proctor, a 19-year-old sophomore guard from Duke, is highlighted for making marginal improvements in his game, particularly in finishing off drives and showcasing enhanced playmaking IQ. Despite facing challenges and suffering a recent leg injury that could impact his performance in the 2023-2024 season, Proctor’s potential as a 6’5″ combo guard has kept interest alive among NBA teams.

Initially projected as the 12th overall pick, Proctor’s draft stock is expected to slide in this early mock draft due to a tough start to the season and the recent injury setback. In his sophomore season at Duke, Proctor started in eight games, averaging 28 minutes on the floor and attempting eight shots per game, with a 44 percent success rate. From beyond the arc, he has connected on 32 percent of his shots on four attempts per game.

The mock draft notes that Proctor’s offensive production hasn’t shown significant improvement compared to his freshman season, with an average of ten points, four assists, and three rebounds over 44 career games with the Blue Devils. The severity of his recent leg injury is yet to be revealed, and the potential for an extended absence could impact Proctor’s draft position.

Despite the challenges, Proctor’s return to the court is expected to garner attention from NBA scouts, given the high expectations attached to the former five-star prospect. His ability to score and the glimpses of potential demonstrated in his debut season at Duke contribute to the ongoing intrigue surrounding Proctor’s NBA prospects.
