Austin Ausberry, a redshirt freshman defensive back, is likely to become the 10th Auburn player to join the transfer portal, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Tuesday afternoon.
Ausberry, a former four-star prospect from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, joined the Tigers in 2022 after beating out Alabama, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, among others.

Ausberry saw action in only three of Auburn’s 12 regular season games in 2023, down from four games in 2022. Ausberry will leave Auburn with only two total tackles.
With his declaration on Tuesday, Ausberry became the second Auburn defensive back to enter the transfer portal, following junior Marquise Gilbert, who revealed his intention to transfer on December 7. The Tigers are now expected to lose at least four defensive backs as DJ James and Nehemiah Pritchett are both out of eligibility and will enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
