The son of ex-West Brom midfielder Jason Koumas, Lewis Koumas, is poised to step into the limelight for Liverpool in their upcoming Europa League match on Thursday. The Reds’ manager, Jurgen Klopp, is planning significant lineup changes for the clash against Union Saint-Gilloise, as the team has already secured qualification.
Despite being just 18 years old, young Koumas has showcased his scoring prowess in Liverpool’s youth squads. He’s currently a part of the Reds’ Premier League 2 team and is among several talented youngsters expected to be included in the senior squad for the first time in a match that holds little consequence. Koumas joined Liverpool as a youngster from nearby Tranmere Rovers, where his father, Jason, made his mark in football. He signed his inaugural professional contract with the club in January of this year.
While displaying his skills in three EFL Trophy games for Liverpool’s under 21s this season, including a victory against Morecambe, Koumas also encountered setbacks with defeats against Barrow and Bradford City. In the match against the latter, he received a red card.
