Auburn secured its second transfer commitment for the 2024 cycle with Gage Keys, a defensive lineman from Kansas, announcing his commitment to Auburn via his social media. Keys previously played three seasons with the Minnesota Golden Gophers before transferring to the Jayhawks.
During his single season at Kansas, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman amassed 21 total tackles. As a high school prospect, Keys ranked as the No. 32 defensive end and the No. 20 player in Ohio.
Keys marks Auburn’s second transfer acquisition in 2024, following the addition of wide receiver Robert Lewis from Georgia State. Lewis, previously a three-star prospect, achieved Third-Team All-Sun Belt honors in 2023, showcasing his skills with 70 receptions for 877 yards and seven receiving touchdowns. One of his standout performances was against Charlotte, where the 5-foot-11 wide receiver caught six passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
Looking ahead to the 2024 season, Auburn aims to bolster its receiving corps. With commitments from five-star recruits Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson, as well as four-stars Malcolm Simmons and Bryce Cain, along with the recent addition of Georgia State transfer Robert Lewis, the team appears poised to elevate its performance under the leadership of Hugh Freeze.
Keys will also assist the Tigers in improving their defensive line play, which was lacking at times last season.
