BREAKING NEWS: Auburn Tigers flip top recruit Man from Florida

The Auburn Tigers have made a significant move in the recruiting landscape by successfully flipping top-50 recruit Amaris Williams from the Florida Gators. Williams, a four-star defensive lineman standing at 6’3″ and weighing 265 pounds, had been committed to the Gators since June but has now chosen to join Auburn.

Amaris Williams is regarded as one of the top players in the 2024 class, ranking as the No. 34 overall player, the No. 12 defensive lineman, and the top player out of North Carolina according to 247Sports.

Florida, on the other hand, continues to experience challenges in retaining high-profile recruits, with Williams being the latest to decommit. Other recent decommits from the Gators include Xavier Filsaime, Adarius Hayes, Nasir Johnson, Jamonta Waller, Wardell Mack, Kendall Jackson, and reports that 5-star commit LJ McCray may not be sticking with the program.

Amaris Williams cited the opportunity to play early and his positive relationship with the coaching staff, including Coach JG (Jeremy Garrett), Coach Trell (Vontrell King-Williams), and Coach Freeze, as key factors in his decision to flip to the Tigers.

As of now, the Auburn Tigers hold the No. 8 class for the 2024 recruiting cycle, featuring notable recruits such as Cam Coleman, Perry Thompson, and Demarcus Riddick. The addition of Williams further strengthens Auburn’s recruiting class, and the Tigers are poised to build on this momentum as they prepare for the upcoming season, set to kick off on August 31 against Alabama A&M.
