The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Canadian cover linebacker Redha Kramdi on Tuesday, securing one of their key young defensive players.
The 26-year-old Montreal native worked his way into the starting dime back position in 2023, taking over for American veteran Alden Darby midway through the season.
Kramdi appeared in 14 games in 2023, recording 22 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles, and two quarterback sacks.
Kramdi, who was set to become a free agency on February 13, agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Bombers, who selected him in the second round of the 2021 CFL Draft.
He made the squad and played seven games as a rookie in 2021, then played 17 games in 2022 before really breaking out last season.
He made 12 regular-season games for the Bombers and started in the 2023 Grey Cup, a 28-24 loss to the Montreal Alouettes.
Kramdi, offensive lineman Pat Neufeld, and defensive end Willie Jefferson are the three remaining free agents signed by the Bombers.
