The Los Angeles Rams discovered one running back gem in Kyren Williams, so might they be bringing back another capable of assisting their current playoff drive in Ronnie Rivers? Rivers was designated to return off injured reserve and practice on Tuesday, giving the organization a three-week window to activate him to the 53-man roster. L.A. now has only Williams and Royce Freeman on the roster at running back, which might signal that Rivers will return as soon as Thursday night against the New Orleans Saints.
Or he needs more practice and will miss one or two more games.
Rivers, a former Fresno State undrafted free agent, has 13 carries for 57 yards this season. Rivers had nine carries for 47 yards and two catches for 10 yards in this season’s overtime triumph over the Colts. As a rookie in 2022, he had nine carries for 21 yards.
He was signed by the Cardinals and lasted less than a week with the Seahawks before joining the Rams’ practice squad in 2022.
