On Tuesday, we reported that Southampton is ready to offer €30 million for Juventus’ Matias Soulé, who is presently on loan at Frosinone. This season, the winger has six goals and one assist in 14 league games, and Frosinone sporting director Guido Angelozzi has claimed that “many” English clubs are interested in him. The statements are relayed by Calciomercato, who then focuses on Southampton’s interest in the 20-year-old.
Juve would need to raise funds to repair their financial situation, and they are considering selling some of its young players, including Soulé, next month.
Despite interest from several English clubs, the report indicates that Southampton is the primary contender in the transfer race for the player, having taken significant steps to secure his services.
However, convincing all involved parties for a deal in January might pose a challenge for Southampton, primarily due to their status in the Championship. The report suggests that the scenario could be different if a Premier League club were to make an offer.
Previously, Juventus valued the Argentina U21 international at approximately €20-25m. According to Calciomercato, negotiations are poised to commence for a fee exceeding €30m in the upcoming January transfer window.
The player, Soulé, is increasingly showing interest in a move to England, while Juventus is observing how the situation unfolds in the coming weeks.
Should Southampton manage to persuade all parties involved, they could potentially finalize a deal during the winter transfer market.
