Auburn football lands another super star

Hugh Freeze and the Tigers won the contest as Auburn made Favour Edwin’s shortlist on Nov. 2, earning both his pledge and his signature as Edwin chose Auburn late Wednesday night.

Auburn secured the commitment of a 3-star offensive line prospect from Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, Ga., triumphing over strong competition from programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Georgia Tech.

Favour Edwin, Eagles Landing Christian Academy, Offensive Tackle

Standing tall at 6-foot-8 and weighing 290 pounds, Edwin is ranked as the 56th offensive tackle nationally and the 69th top high school prospect in Georgia by 247Sports. Notably, Edwin began playing football only recently, transitioning from a background in basketball in the spring of 2023.

Reports from 247Sports indicate that on August 16, Freeze and the Tigers extended the second offer to Edwin, following an offer from Nick Saban and Alabama.

Edwin made significant visits to Auburn during key game days, attending matchups against Georgia and Alabama on September 30 and November 25, respectively. By his second visit, he had narrowed down his options to five teams, which included both Auburn and Alabama.

Auburn faces the imminent departure of three starting offensive linemen—Gunner Britton, Avery Jones, and Kam Stutts. Consequently, the program has been actively pursuing several offensive linemen available in the transfer portal.

The commitment of Edwin marks a significant addition to Auburn’s offensive line room. He is expected to join other incoming talents such as 4-star DeAndre Carter and 3-star JUCO prospect Seth Wilfred. Moreover, the Tigers’ pursuit from the transfer portal could potentially expand their pool of new offensive line recruits.
