Breaking News: Texas Longhorns now in final stage discussion to land Another highly rated Star

Texas is a finalist for four-star WR Aaron Butler ahead of Friday decision.

The Texas Longhorns have officially extended an offer to Calabasas (Calif.) wide receiver Aaron Butler. As the early signing period closes, Butler is choosing between three finalists: Texas, Arizona, and Washington. Arizona holds an advantage, having hosted Butler on an official visit last weekend. Washington also had Butler on campus for an unofficial visit.

Four-Star WR Aaron Butler will hold off signing Wednesday

Texas wide receivers coach Chris Jackson has been in contact with Butler, making an in-home visit. The Longhorns are working to secure a spot for Butler in the 2024 class. Coach Jackson expressed interest in bringing in one more wide receiver for the ’24 class, and Butler could potentially fill that role. While Texas recently landed Houston transfer wide receiver Matthew Golden, the lack of pursuit for additional wide receivers from the transfer portal indicates that a spot is still open.

Butler, a two-way standout with physicality as a cornerback, is considered a strong fit for Steve Sarkisian’s offense. A consensus four-star prospect, he is ranked as the No. 122 prospect nationally and the No. 21 wide receiver. Despite Arizona being the favorite, Texas remains in the mix, and the final decision could bring a surprise.
