The Tigers bolstered their defensive lineup by acquiring a linebacker via the transfer portal. Dorian Mausi, previously with Duke, committed to Auburn, as announced by Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze during a press conference.
Mausi made the move after spending four seasons with Duke, entering the transfer portal in December. Throughout his tenure with the Blue Devils, he accumulated 20 career starts and played 1,659 snaps, showcasing valuable experience for Auburn’s defense.
During his last season at Duke, Mausi notably amassed 61 tackles, with a season-best performance of 14 tackles against Florida State, an opponent in his conference. His final season also included 3.5 tackles for loss (TFL) across six starts.
In the 2022 season with Duke, Mausi participated in 11 games, securing six starts. He tallied 44 tackles, one TFL, one QB pressure, and managed at least three tackles in eight of the games played.
Looking back at the 2021 season, Mausi started in 11 games, ranking fourth in tackles with 59. He recorded two TFL, one forced fumble, and one QB pressure, consistently achieving at least three tackles in 11 games.
Mausi’s journey started at Detroit Jesuit High School in Detroit, where he earned a reputation as a 3-star prospect and was recognized as the No. 57 outside linebacker nationally.
