Green Bay Packers are reportedly interested to Sign Buffalo Bills Star Weapon

This offseason, the Green Bay Packers will have a lot of decisions to make. One of those will undoubtedly be bolstering the Packers’ offense and continuing to position Jordan Love for success. The young core that currently surrounds Love is off to a fantastic start. Christian Watson (when healthy), Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Luke Musgrave, and Tucker Kraft comprise an inexperienced yet strong group.

Having said that, the Packers might benefit from adding a seasoned presence or two on offense while remaining committed to their unofficial “youth movement.” That is precisely what a current Buffalo Bills wide receiver is capable of.

The Green Bay Packers Have Been Linked To Young Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver

Bleacher Report’s Joe Tansey explained how this may happen:

Gabe Davis currently stands as the leading receiver for the Packers in terms of receiving yards for the 2023 season, despite experiencing three games in the last four where he did not gain any yardage.

Having amassed 595 yards this season, Davis seems poised to transition from a supporting role behind Stefon Diggs to potentially becoming the team’s primary wide receiver.

Although his regular-season performance might not be the strongest at the moment, Davis has showcased his value in postseason games, which could make him a more attractive prospect for specific teams. Notably, he recorded a 100-yard game against the Miami Dolphins last season and an impressive 201 receiving yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in a thrilling divisional-round match two years ago.

While Davis exhibits the potential to become a top-tier target, his consistency as a pass-catcher in the crucial months of December and January will be pivotal in elevating his worth as a free agent.

The Packers, if they highly value him, may not necessarily hope for him to deliver exceptional performances, as this could increase his market value significantly.

Regardless, the Packers ought to keep a close watch on players similar to Davis and Higgins—individuals capable of becoming long-term No. 1 wide receivers and developing alongside Love and the existing wide receiver cohort already present on the team’s roster.

Will The Packers Target A Wide Receiver In Free Agency?

Jordan Love is surrounded by an extremely talented young core. Adding a 24-year-old veteran to this team, however, may be big. The Packers will likely focus on other positions this season after investing heavily in wide receivers in the previous two selections.

The Packers may be best served by signing a free agent like Davis and addressing other areas of weakness through the draft to plug as many holes as possible.

Obviously, the Packers’ 2024 salary cap will be a factor (as it always is).
