The Seattle Seahawks will play the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Sunday, but Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis is expected to miss the game due to an injury. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Levis will miss Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury suffered in Week 15’s 19-16 overtime loss to the Houston Texans.
“Titans QB Will Levis, dealing with a high-ankle sprain, is not expected to be able to play today, source said,” Rapoport tweeted. “He pushed to be on the field, practicing on Friday. But couldn’t quite get there. Ryan Tannehill will start.”
Levis, the No. 33 overall choice in the 2023 NFL Draft, has completed 147 of 249 passes for 1,792 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions in eight games. He also has 25 carries for 57 yards and another touchdown.
When speaking to the media this week, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll commended Levis, revealing that Seattle had high expectations for him throughout the draft process. “He’s a really smart, bright kid,” Carroll added. “Excellent command, confident, and really impressive.” He’s a highly outstanding individual. We thought he was as good a prospect as anyone else in the group. He’s so sharp that he can handle it and put it in context. I don’t know until you actually get to know him, but that was our impression. We had high hopes for him.” The Seahawks (7-7) and Titans (5-9) will face battle at Nissan Stadium at 10 a.m. PT.
