Breaking News: After the key player leaves Oklahoma football for Oregon, the Sooners lose another quarterback to a transfer portal.

 

The Sooners have another gateway entry.

This time around, the college football transfer portal includes thousands of submissions and has seen some very big names relocated. Dillon Gabriel, a former Oklahoma football standout who will play his last collegiate football season for the Oregon Ducks, is one of the biggest. Days before the Sooners’ matchup with Arizona in the Alamo Bowl, the quarterback position has now been lost by another to the transfer portal. According to Pete Nakos of On3, senior Davis Beville is once more using the portal.

According to @On3sports, Oklahoma quarterback Davis Beville has accessed the transfer portal. has 15 career games played; Pitt was his last school. has 339 career yards passing.

Following the news, Beville uploaded a highlight reel of himself from his time with Oklahoma and Pitt to his X account.

Before joining the Oklahoma football school, Beville played his first two seasons at Pitt. However, he was behind Dillon Gabriel in the depth chart and later slipped behind Jackson Arnold, a gifted rookie.

Beville had just one career start for the Sooners, in a 49-0 loss against the Red River Rivalry in 2022. He will still be eligible for one more year.

This is not shocking considering that signal-callers Brendan Zurbrugg and Michael Hawkins will join the team in 2024 and Arnold is predicted to start in 2024 and beyond.

The 10-2 Oklahoma football team will play Arizona in the Alamo Bowl on December 28 in San Antonio. Sooners supporters will be able to witness firsthand what the future holds at quarterback as Jackson Arnold is selected to start.
