The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have officially announced that they have reached an agreement to extend the contract of Canadian defensive tackle Cam Lawson for an additional two years. Originally set to enter free agency in February, Lawson (born on October 7, 1998, in Caledon, ON, standing at 6-3, 281 lbs and a graduate of Queen’s) is now secured for his third consecutive season in Blue and Gold, having been acquired through a trade in May 2022.
Having participated in 33 games during his two seasons with the team, Lawson showcased his skills in the 2023 season, contributing five sacks, eight defensive tackles, and an interception across 18 games while primarily playing in a rotational capacity. This extension marks a continued commitment by Lawson to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, solidifying his presence and impact on the team’s defensive line.
