The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers are getting ready for their impending divisional confrontation. This is a crucial game that both teams absolutely must win because they now have 7 wins and 8 losses for the season. Regretfully, it appears that the Minnesota Vikings will be playing in Minneapolis without two of their key offensive players.
Injury Update for Green Bay Packers vs.
Two significant injuries suffered against the Detroit Lions could have a significant impact on the Minnesota Vikings’ offensive line.
The first noteworthy injury was to Jordan Addison. During a play, Jordan Addison was hurt while trying to tackle a Lions player who had intercepted a ball meant for him. Jordan Addison persisted in the play despite being rolled up on by a teammate, and just before the half was over, he returned to the locker room ahead of his colleagues.
He was declared out of the game for the rest of the third quarter. Although he is officially classified as week-to-week, his chances of returning this year do not appear good.
A big down field completion was made by teammate TJ Hockenson early in the third quarter. Sadly, in an attempt to make the tackle, the defender threw himself at TJ Hockenson’s ankles. The defender’s only genuine option to prevent him from scoring was to target his lower leg because upper body blows were prohibited by the regulations.
As a result, TJ Hockenson was seen hobbling toward the sidelines and receiving medical attention for a while before being declared out. With a knee ailment on the list, it appears this setback will end the season. An ACL or MCL tear could occur while awaiting the team’s official MRI results.
Regarding the opponent of the Green Bay Packers’ injury status, coach Kevin O’Connell offered the following information, if it was relevant:
It does not seem realistic that either player will be available for this game, let alone the remaining games of the season, even if they both seem to be giving it their all to play against the Green Bay Packers.
Game-Planning Against the New Players of the Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers defense will still have their hands full with the two most recent injuries. Regardless of the opponent lining up against him, star wide receiver Juston Jefferson poses matchup challenges and will need to be the center of attention for the Green Bay Packers defense.
Expect KJ Osborn to play a bigger part in the offense because his two teammates are probably going to be sidelined. He will be trying to improve on his performance in the next game after recording a season-high 47-yard reception in the previous one.
