From 2011 to 2016, catcher Martin Maldonado was a member of the Milwaukee Brewers’ major league team. Following that, he spent time with the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, and Chicago Cubs. Despite a couple separate stints with the Astros from 2017 to 2019, Maldonado was able to call Houston home for the previous four seasons. He became a free agent at the end of the 2023 season, and Houston ended up signing former Brewers catcher Victor Caratini.
Maldonado’s time in Houston came to an end with the Astros’ signing of Caratini. Until recently, the 37-year-old was a free agent again, but he has since signed a one-year contract with the Chicago White Sox.

He is a pitchers catcher, guy can call games better than most in the bigs at this point. And guys like Verlander praise him, let’s give him a chance
