Just In: Another Florida State Star Declares NFL Draft Entry Amidst Seminoles’ Roster Changes

Florida State wide receiver Keon Coleman has declared his intention to enter the NFL draft, further bolstering the Seminoles’ list of members seeking fresh opportunities in 2024.

Announcing his decision via Instagram, Coleman expressed appreciation for both Florida State and his previous school, Michigan State. He also expressed disappointment over the Seminoles’ inability to secure a playoff spot, acknowledging the team’s tremendous effort throughout the season. He stated, “We gave it everything we had and, unfortunately, couldn’t prove ourselves as the top team in college football this year. I’m forever grateful for the fans, coaches, and teammates who’ve become lifelong brothers.”

Florida State WR Keon Coleman declares for the 2024 NFL draft

After transferring to Florida State in May, Coleman made an immediate impact with three touchdowns in the Seminoles’ Week 1 win against LSU. Despite facing challenges like injuries and inconsistency, he concluded the season with impressive statistics: 50 receptions for 658 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 25 punt returns totaling 300 yards. Currently ranked 12th on ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr.’s 2024 NFL draft Big Board, Coleman showcased his potential.

During his 2022 season at Michigan State, Coleman recorded 58 receptions for 798 yards and seven touchdowns.

Following suit with other Florida State standout players opting out of bowl games, including Johnny Wilson, Trey Benson, Jared Verse, Jaheim Bell, and Akeem Dent, Coleman joins the list of key contributors like quarterback Tate Rodemaker and linebacker DJ Lundy by entering the transfer portal and choosing not to participate. Notably, nearly 20 players from Florida State’s ACC championship game depth chart will be absent for the upcoming bowl game against Georgia on December 31st.
