In Week 17, the Cleveland Browns welcomed the New York Jets to Thursday Night Football. With Elijah Moore convulsing on the ground due to a head injury late in the third quarter, the Browns led 27–14.
Upon the two-minute warning, Joe Flacco found Moore for a 22-yard gain on the opening play.
Moore broke a tackle, but CJ Mosley made a clean tackle to bring him down from behind. Sadly, Moore’s head wrenched back when he struck the front of his helmet on the ground, and when he rolled over, it appeared as though he had been struck in the facemask once more.
Then Moore was on the ground, his arms moving against his will. The injury is visible below.
Trainers went to Moore and he was ultimately assisted off the field. He stopped at the blue tent per NFL protocol before going to the locker room to be declared out for the remainder of the game.
I hope Moore is doing well. He had five catches for 61 yards and a touchdown near the end of the game.
